SIM-Teq is a portable wireless training network of simulated dosimeters, survey meters, probes and gamma radiation sources managed and controlled by the Simulation Control Center (SCC) application. The system allows the instructor to combine training instrument auto-response with manual remote-control capability. SIM-Teq enables trainers to create a training environment which includes high fidelity simulated instruments and “live” detectable sources to instill the experience, self-assurance, and real understanding they want trainees to achieve – safely.
The instructor is free to teach, observe and assess the trainee, with the ability to remotely manage or control any SIM-Teq device, individually or collectively. The SCC is an intuitive software application which provides the instructor with the means to view the dynamic measurement and status from all wirelessly connected devices, set source emission levels, model-specific configurations and alarm thresholds, and manually control the displayed measurement, faults and alarms of any training instrument, at any time.
The system is designed to meet the variety of training organization needs to provide frequent, realistic training to provide Radiation Protection Technicians or Emergency Responders with the skills necessary to successfully do their job and/or coordinate together in an actual incident.

DMC3000TD
The Mirion DMC3000 training dosimeter incorporates an OEM shell, display, sounder and pushbuttons. It looks, feels and operates with most functions supported – identical to a DMC3000 (G2 only) dosimeter. The device pairs with a Rad Tag for auto-response to any TWR Source, or can be controlled directly via the SCC software application. The training dosimeter supports most configuration settings and real dosimeter accessories.

The Rad Tag is a battery-operated portable device which wirelessly pairs with any SIM-Teq training dosimeter, enabling the dosimeter to auto-respond to any TWR Source, in addition to the training dosimeters direct control capability. Pairing is temporary and done via the SCC software application.

The Two-Way Ranging (TWR) Source is a battery-operated portable device which provides an omni-directional simulated radiation energy field. Each source is identical and can be wirelessly configured via SCC software application to a desired dose rate at one foot – from 1.0 mR/hr to 99,000 R/hr. Training instruments respond to one or more sources following the 1/r2 principle. Range is approximately 100 feet.
