Sealed Source Leak Test Analysis Services

Sealed Source Leak Tests & Swipe Surveys

When it comes to radiation safety, regular testing is critical—both to meet regulatory requirements and to protect your team and environment. Two of the most common methods for detecting potential contamination are sealed source leak tests and swipe, or “wipe”, surveys.

Why Perform a Leak Test?

Sealed source leak tests are performed to verify that a radioactive source is not leaking radioactive material. This ensures:

  • Regulatory Compliance – Meets NRC or state requirements for routine testing.
  • Environmental Safety – Prevents contamination of work areas.
  • Personnel Protection – Reduces risk of unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Source Integrity – Confirms the sealed source is intact and safe to use.
